The highly praised Witmark collection holds 47 tracks that Dylan, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, harmonica and sometimes piano, recorded for his earliest publishers before he was 24. Along with intimate versions of such classics as Mr. Tambourine Man and Blowin' in the Wind are 15 previously unreleased songs.

Bob Dylan, The Original Mono Recordings
Eight LPs (Columbia, $270)
The Mono box restores Dylan's first eight studio albums, from his 1962 eponymous debut through 1968's John Wesley Harding, to mono sound, with re-creations of original LP and sleeve art. A 12-by-12-inch book offers fresh liner notes and rare photos. (Both available on CD.)
