Guidelines to Assure the Validity of Inferences Drawn From NAEP Data

Drawing valid inferences from the results of NAEP assessments depends on using appropriate statistical procedures. When population groups of interest are compared, it is necessary to use appropriate statistical procedures for comparing groups. The statistical procedures for group comparison used in NAEP are described in this section.
