We’re big fans of the steampunk movement and even bigger fans of our Xbox 360 consoles. So what could be better than a combination of the two? Nothing really, and Robert LaMonte’s recent Xbox 360 mod only proves it.
Apparently fears of overheating and a run in with the dreaded “three red lights” had Robert wanting to add a little more ventilation to his trusty video game machine and he decided a full blown case mod was the way to go. He grabbed some sprockets and random brass accents then sent the case out to Liquid Transformations who added the slick, wood-like paint job. Read more...

Apparently even King Koopa himself has to do a little recruiting sometimes and what better way to get the attention of impressionable Koopas than with some propaganda posters? The posters seen above come from Fro Design Co. and they look absolutely wonderful -- too bad they’re already sold out.
Fro Design Co. released a set of 4 posters titled Victory!, The Enemy, Power Ups and The Boos. I have to admit my personal favorite is probably the Power Ups poster. If the Super Mario Bros. didn’t have any fire flowers their mission through the Mushroom Kingdom would have been a lot more difficult -- and we'd all have a few more broken controllers. Head past the break for full size images. Read more...

Try out the new arcade cabinet featuring the vocaloid star for free at this weekend's J-Pop Summit!
Remember when the arcades were filled with all kinds of flashing, pulsing rhythm games? Remember arcades? Sega hasn't seemed to have forgotten them, releasing what's increasingly becoming an oddity: a new arcade cabinet. In this case, the new release is Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade, which will be getting a free preview at this weekends J-Pop Summit in San Francisco.
Well, sort of free: it'll be $1 a pop to play the game during the festival, but at Saturday night's VIP party (did you sign up for an invite?) you can hang out with some of the performers from the festival and play the game gratis. Either way, if you're into the vocaloid thing, you might really want to swing by and give this a try since it's the only Hatsune Miku cabinet outside Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

We've all been fans of the Super Mario Bros. since the beginning. Whether it's the original NES game, Mario Kart for Super Nintendo or the sometimes forgotten Mario Tennis for N64, we just can’t get enough of the plumber and his pals. That said, what better way is there to show your love for Mushroom Kingdom residents than with one of these super cool iPad/tablet sleeves? Read more...

The Angry Birds are on fire these days. The app has been downloaded over 300 million times across multiple platforms, they’re on their way to Hollywood, they recently became superheroes and they‘ve even got a killer fan-made motion comic. Now, Julien Brasart has taken their cutesy theme song and turned it into the hard rockin’ soundtrack it should have always been!
We’re talking about a game in which disgusting green pigs have stolen eggs from some innocent birds who in turn launched a full blown assault on the pig fortresses. If that’s not enough to bust out the guitar for a bad ass Angry Birds solo I don’t know what is. You can watch Julien bust out his version of the Angry Birds theme song below. Read more...

A lot of you have probably seen (or at least heard of) those little palm-sized Mario Kart R/C cars, but a new version of the real-life Nintendo racers have recently popped up. They’re much bigger and designed to look just like the karts we see in the addictive video game.
Mario and Yoshi are the only characters available, but they do run on different frequencies so we can zip around the office, weaving under desks and around the water cooler in our own live Battle Mode. They also have full-featured driving controls so they can turn left or right while moving forward or in reverse. Read more...

We already know Rovio wants to take Angry Birds to Hollywood, but what about comic books? Sure, there really isn’t any dialogue between the birds and pigs in the smartphone game, but this Angry Birds motion comic shows us that we may not need it. Read more...
