Fall is traditionally the season of would-be blockbuster albums. The music industry inevitably rolls out its biggest hitters in hopes of generating sales for the holidays. This year is no exception, with major releases expected from Taylor Swift, T.I., Linkin Park, Kenny Chesney, Robert Plant and Ne-Yo, plus a box set from “The Darkness on the Edge of Town”-era Bruce Springsteen featuring 21 previously unreleased songs. Here’s a rundown of what’s in store:
RockInterpol, “Interpol” (Tuesday): The post-rock quartet from New York releases its fourth studio album, which marks the departure of bassist and cofounder Carlos Dengler.
Jerry Lee Lewis, “Mean Old Man” (Tuesday): The rock ‘n’ roll legend teams up with a bevy of friends and acolytes, including Keith Richards, Solomon Burke, Eric Clapton, Merle Haggard, Tim McGraw, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Slash and Mavis Staples.
