Paul McCartney to headline Wrigley Field July 31
Paul McCartney announced Monday that he will play his first Chicago concert since 2005 when he headlines July 31 at Wrigley Field.
Tickets will go on sale June 20 at tickets.com (prices were not yet available) for the rare date at the Cubs ballpark, which has seen only a handful of concerts in past summers by the Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett, the Police, Rascal Flatts, and Billy Joel and Elton John.
McCartney’s band will remain the same as it has for recent tours: keyboardist Paul "Wix" Wickens, guitarist Rusty Anderson, drummer Abe Laboriel Jr., and guitarist Brian Ray.
Also announced were McCartney shows July 24 at Comerica Park in Detroit and Aug. 4 at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Just saw Sir Paul again last week in Las Vegas and it was another great performance. Come rain or shine he's worth the price of any ticket!
McCartney WAS The Beatles!

This show will be fantastic. Even though he will be 69 in a week MACCA is still a vintage, live performer. He just played in Peru and Brazil and the concerts were nearly three hours long. He's tireless !

The unbridled talent of Paul McCartney reminds today's yute of what they missed...an era of the finest music EVER created and that all they have now is rap crap as the soundtrack of their lives. How unfortunate for our yute of today!

"McCartney WAS The Beatles!"???
Not! I think you meant to say "McCartney was IN the Beatles"

I saw him in Vegas as well, front row. He was phenomenal!

Can he play left field? The Cubs need the help.

When it comes to The Beatles, the sum of the four was superior to the individuals as solo artists. McCartney's best stuff was with the Beatles, as was Lennon's and Harrison's (except for All Things Must Pass, which were all the great songs Lennon/McCartney didn't let George put on the Beatles albums).

Wow, a lot of dumb people commenting on here. If these are the people i'd have to be surrounded by at McCartney's show, I think I'll pass.
I am part of today's "yute."

I've seen him 6 times now. He's like fine wine.....gets better with age! If you've never seen him live, by all means try! It's an experience you'll never forget.

I seen Paul at the United Center on April 10, 2002 on his "Driving USA Tour".
Beatles, Wings and solo music, he mixed it up very well.
He opened with "Hello Goodbye" and also paid tribute to John Lennon
by singing a song titled "Here Today"
If you get the chance to see Paul..never pass it up.
Take it from someone who knows.
Is The Outfield gonna be there too?
I like that band....

wow it's gonna be amazing. Every song will be great because it is Paul who will do the vocals "The Man The Legend". Good luck to the performance, Keep on fulfilling the dreams of everybody.

Greetings from corn country in La Salle county..... It's not fair that only the rich can afford to be the field as.all the big shots with their stinky cigars and auras that they are above others.........while all the worker bees will be in the nose bleed seats!. Oh how I wish I could afford to take all my grandkids to this show as they would appreciate it so much. However, I am just so glad that he is coming! I also hope that all those near me will want to dance their hearts out.like I do. It seems that I frequently get stuck with a bunch of deadbeats around me when I go to such a great event like this.and they complain if someone moves. Those people should stay home. Anyway I am still so grateful as we will be making history! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU PAUL.......

My stomach turns everyday when I ride past Wrigley Field on the el. I hate the Cubs (and all pro teams), I hate everything about it. A yuppy scum playground. Seems fitting a self-righteous snob and rip-off artist would over-charge to play in this dump.
