While true LEGO diehards are busy popping out the model home from Arrested Development and Middle Earth in its entirety, most of us are left with a box of plastic bricks and limited freestyle LEGO building abilities. Thankfully a new website has sprung up to change all that. Read more...

These custom LEGO builds keep getting better and better. Over the course of a month artist Sean Kenney and his team recreated the Trump International Hotel & Tower using 65,000 plastic bricks and it stands 10-feet tall!
The real Trump Hotel & Tower has glass covering the entire exterior that reflects the city’s skyline and the team behind this build thought their scaled down version should have the same effect. The only problem is reflective glass LEGO bricks are a little hard to come by. Read more...

It’s around 5 years later and people still can’t believe that Arrested Development got cancelled -- it really was sad day for television. But, rather than dwelling on the past Matt De Lanoy has been celebrating how great the show was by bringing the model home, stair car and the show’s cast to life with LEGOs.
The whole Bluth family is here -- Tobias is rocking his Blue Man Group paint job, George is dressed in prison jumpsuit orange and Gob is riding his Segway with Franklin in tow. The model home looks spot-on with an unfinished yard and the stair car has even made an appearance as the family’s only mode of transportation. Read more...

On Friday, August 5th three very special LEGO minifigures launched into space aboard NASA’s Juno spacecraft on a mission to Jupiter!
The three minifigures currently hurling through our solar system were designed to resemble the Roman god Jupiter, his wife (and sister) Juno and “father of science” Galileo Galilei. Their trip to Jupiter will take 5 years. Upon arrival Juno will orbit Jupiter for one year (33 revolutions) to study the planet. Read more...

I’ve said it before and I will say it again -- we love LEGOs! This latest LEGO build is on display right now at the Bronx Zoo as part of “The Great Summer Zoofari” and all the animals that were constructed sit nicely next to their real-life counterparts!
There are a ton of LEGO animal sculptures on display including tigers, gorillas, flamingos (which are actually placed in water), penguins and many more. Each display was built by LEGO’s own Master Builders and explains what the Wildlife Conservation Society is doing to help save them in the wild. Read more...

It’s heartbreaking to think the Space Shuttle program has officially ended, but it has. Thankfully LEGO is here to cheer us up with an updated LEGO Space Shuttle set complete with launchpad, ground crew and satellite!
The set was originally introduced in 2010 and aimed at the older (16+) LEGO crowd, but they have now released an updated 1,230 brick version after realizing younger builders liked the set too. The booster rockets have been reinforced as well as the landing gear to better accommodate playtime. The payload doors have also been beefed up and “can now be more rigorously opened and closed.” Lastly the astronaut minifigures now come with hair pieces and helmets, and their facial features have been updated. We’ve seen some awesome LEGO builds lately and this well-equipped Batcave put together by Flickr user Orion Pax is another great example. Not only is it full of Bat’s gadgets, but there’s also a pretty sweet Batmobile parked inside.
The Batcave took Pax about a week to build which is pretty impressive considering the timeframe other LEGO builds we’ve seen required. Inside you’ll find all sorts of Bat-goodies including the Bat-computer, the Batmobile -- which is based off the one we saw in Tim Burton’s films -- and of course Batman in minifigure form. The LEGO Group, Marvel and DC Comics made a pretty awesome announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. The three companies are joining forces for a new line called 'LEGO Super Heroes' that will turn characters from both universes into mini-figs!
LEGO’s new DC line-up will be an extension of their Batman sets, but new characters -- including Superman, Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern -- will be added to the line come January. It’s not just mini-figs; brand new DC construction sets, and buildable characters and creatures will all be available at launch. Read more...

Remember the massive Dark Tower in Lord of the Rings where the Eye of Sauron floated around scanning all of Middle Earth for that precious One Ring? Well, some guy made that thing out of LEGOs and he only had to use an estimated 50,000 bricks!
Kevin Walter is the LEGO madman behind this terrifying creation. It was recently on display at Brickworld 2011 and it stands 5-feet, 9-inches tall! I can’t imagine how long it took him to build this monster, but there’s no doubt Kevin put a lot of time into it. Head past the break to see just how big this thing really is. Read more...

Even after all my years playing with LEGOs I still can’t get over how awesome they are. We recently talked about how cool this District 9 LEGO ARC Rifle replica is and now someone has gone a step further and created a wearable LEGO replica of Master Chief’s armor from Halo!
Created by a LEGO (and Halo) fanatic named Ben Caulkins, the helmet was finished about six months ago. Since then he’s clearly been hard at work on the rest of this incredible LEGO armor. It may not provide the best protection against alien weaponry but, it sure does look cool!
Everything you see -- other than the visor, which came from a motorcycle helmet -- was created entirely out of those wonderful plastic bricks we call LEGOs. Obviously, there’s some Velcro and fabric straps involved too but that’s a given.
Apparently, Caulkins’ original inspiration for the LEGO armor came from this LEGO Boba Fett costume. Though he clearly chose a different character, from a completely different universe, there is still no denying the awesomeness delivered. Head past the break for more photos of Caulkins’ Master Chief masterpiece! Read more...
