It felt like this year's Baltimore Comic-Con hit a new record for attendance, and it just goes to show that people are still very much interested in comic books -- both traditional and digital (if the packed house at the comiXology panel was any indication). Lines wrapped around the convention floor for such comic luminaries as Stan Lee, Greg Capullo, David Finch, Adam Hughes and Barry Kitson, and fans swarmed spinner racks and tables full of the latest titles.

Archie Comics, which is working with Schwarzenegger and Lee to produce a comic book based on the character, Tweeted that a new Governator trailer is online -- and now we're getting a much better picture of what to expect!
In the trailer, we see Arnold stepping down as Governor -- but secretly feeling restless. How can he still make a difference in the world? Cue the high-tech world of The Governator -- one that includes a powerful ring, suits of super-armor, and a motorbike that looks like it came out of a video game. He's played virtual superheroes in the movies, but now Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to be a real-life one -- sort of. The former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be teaming up with comics legend Stan Lee in 2012 to put out a combination TV series/comic book called The Governator. As Schwarzenegger told Entertainment Weekly:
“When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘the Governator,’ I thought the word was so cool,” Schwarzenegger, 63, tells EW in his first press interview since leaving office last January. “The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies…”
The Governator will have all the standard superhero stuff: supersuits to allow him to fly, hi-tech vehicles, a colorful cast of arch-enemies, and even "The Arnold Cave." Read more...

The 30 superheroes of 'The Guardian Project,' the brainchild of Stan Lee, Guardian Media Entertainment, and the National Hockey League, were unveiled this past Sunday at the NHL All-Star game in Raleigh, North Carolina. Each original superhero -- or Guardian -- is based on a different NHL team, incorporating unique elements of each team's name into the powers/design. The idea was, according to NHL VP of Marketing Brian Jennings, to reach out beyond the hardcore Hockey enthusiast to the "casual fan" utilizing the universal medium of comics. And who better to help do that than Stan "The Man" Lee himself?
"It's been a very exciting project," Stan Lee told MTV Geek, "because the idea of creating 30 superheroes at one time -- well, you can imagine! We were very lucky because the names of all the teams lend themselves to superheroes."
