Though summer may quickly be coming to an end (horrible feeling here in Michigan), ice cubes are always nice to have around. Especially if those ice cubes are shaped like Han Solo frozen in carbonite and the galaxy’s favorite astromech droid, R2D2.
The wonderfully geeky Star Wars ice trays you see above are available at ThinkGeek for about $10 a piece and you can trust R2D2 will keep your beverages cold. He has after all spent time on Hoth and in the vacuum of space co-piloting Luke‘s X-Wing, so I’m sure he knows what he’s doing.
The R2D2 ice cube tray will make 5 cubes at a time -- one in extra large size and four smaller ice droids. The Han Solo ice cube tray has pretty much the same layout except you’ll be getting six smaller cubes instead of four.
Sadly, at the time of writing this, it appears the Han Solo trays are all sold out, but if your dead set on getting some geeky ice trays right now you could check out these Unidentified Frozen Objects… I know, it’s just not the same.
