ThunderCats Week rolls on here at MTV Geek like the ThunderTank tearing through a Lizardman platoon! While the animated series is a huge hit, and the driving force behind the ThunderCats' resurgence in popularity, the mulitple toy lines by Bandai America Inc. have strengthened fan's interest along with that of newcomers to Lion-O and his band of rebel warriors. We first saw this line at Toy Fair, and then scored our first taste at San Diego Comic-Con. Now with the lines in stores, we're chomping at the bit for any news on upcoming releases and thankfully had the chance to chat with Brehan Maul, Sr. Director of Marketing (Boys Brands), at Bandai America Incorporated about the future of the ThunderCats in the toy aisle... along with some exclusive news!

The ThunderCats have made there way back into pop culture's consciousness as of late. Fueled by the new animated series, the Cats have also started infiltrating the toy aisles thanks to the folks over at Bandai. While these new figures have been more readily available online than at brick and mortar stores, we managed to snag this 6" Lion-O at our local K-Mart before the ravenous fans stripped the shelves bare like a horde of Lizardmen. Holy crap! Now that we've seen the first episode of ThunderCats, we have no doubt that those Thunderan warriors have made a full resurgence form the slumber they've been in since the 1980s. Sure there were a few attempts at comic books, but let's not kid ourselves. Personally, after seeing some sweet ass animation like that, I instantly want to hit the stores to pick up any action figure offerings. Sadly, these haven't hit my local stores just yet, but both Toys "R" Us and K-Mart's official websites had them in stock... for a matter of seconds! These toys are definitely a hit and in the coming weeks, should make their rounds to all retailers so I alone we all can ferociously collect them all.

Here is some basic info on the line, for those of you not privy to the previous info:

One of the most iconic animated series of the 1980s and a continuing pop culture force, ThunderCats is an epic tale of a young hero’s journey to fulfill his ultimate destiny. At this year's San Diego Comic-Con 2011, ThunderCats were unleashed onto the hordes of fans in the form of the latest animated series premiere, and an exclusive figure from Bandai America's ThunderCats Classic line. The figure was available at the Entertainment Earth booth and was even able to be signed by the original voice actor for Lion-O, Larry Kenney. That opportunity was too good to pass up, so we here at MTV Geek got one signed, and then proceeded to tear it open for a review... because that's just how we do things! Surprise Looks like the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343) is gonna be lined out the doors this year at San Diego Comic Con thanks to the recently announced exclusives filling it’s shelves from the fine folks at Toys “R” Us. Ugh. We are going to have to redo our entire schedule in order to make time to pick up the likes of the MOTUC Bizzaro vs. Battle Armor Faker (Yes!) Two-Pack and the metallic-hued Lion-O figure from Bandai’s ThunderCats 8” line (with a chance for an autograph from the original voice actor)! The drought is finally over! Today we’re bringing you a ton of new images for Bandai’s upcoming ThunderCats toy line. We covered a lot of these at Toy Fair this year, but getting the new images is always welcome and helps to keep us salivating for their release. However, there are a number of new additions below as well, and we’ll talk about those below their respective photos.

You wanna see a clear lion-O figure, right? Of course you do, so read on!

The ALL NEW re-imagined ThunderCats animated series premieres this July on Cartoon Network. The new toy line, which debuted at Toy Fair 2011, features 4” figures of all the most popular ThunderCats heroes and villains, each in their own environment, which help to recreate EPIC scenes from the new animated series. Each 4” figure comes with a weapon and/or accessory that is unique to the character. Also included is the exclusive ThunderLynx embedded magnet activation system that allows the figure to interact with, and activate unique features in, multiple ThunderCats products, including the Deluxe ThunderTank. In addition to the figures and the ThunderTank, kids and fans will also have the opportunity to purchase the Deluxe Sword of Omens, which features an extendable blade and custom lights and sounds.

A week or so before this year’s Toy Fair, images started popping up over the internet showing much-debated images of Bandai’s ThunderCats toys. Once the photos had been leaked, toy collector forums instantly lit up as everyone weighed in on the highly anticipated new figures. Of course, everyone was excited at first, but then the naysayers began chiming in. Granted, Bandai America isn’t known for their collector figures, and generally cater more to the younger audience when it comes to play factor. Hell, even we were starting to become skeptical as the show drew closer. However, let us tell you that these ThunderCats toys are the real deal! Literally every single figure, regardless of scale, had us yearning to pose them. It took every drop of our meager willpower just to keep our hands off the display. Hal Jordan would be proud!

So, you guys sick of ThunderCats news yet? Well, stick with it a little longer; because, as the road to Toy Fair draws ever closer to its end, the internet is awash in rumors, fuzzy photographs, and passionate diatribes. Yes indeed, we toy collectors are can be just as obsessed about blurred photos as the most discerning of pornography connoisseurs; especially if beloved 1980s properties are involved. Of course, our rampant addiction to the sweet plastic gets fed on an almost daily basis lately, with today’s dealer being Warner Bros.They sent MTV Geek some concrete info AND hi-res photos from various Thundercats merchandising lines. We’ve brought you most of them already in earlier posts, so we’re just gonna cover a couple of the new ones. It doesn’t hurt that these newest images are some that we’re most excited about!

I'm sure all ThunderCats fans out there remember that fuzzy anthropomorphic...somewhat slightly annoying...character Snarf. Well, the ThunderCats reboot is featuring a brand new Snarf, and he looks a bit more Pokemon and kawaii than we first remembered:
