Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase Winners Announced!

Government 2.0 is about bringing the principles and value of the web as a platform to the business of governing. Lots of people are talking about it. Who's doing it? On September 8 we heard from over 25 innovators who've planned and/or deployed a Government 2.0 project and have lessons to share. Attendees voted on the 5-minute, rapid-fire presentations - in each of five categories - and we awarded these winners a Gov 2.0 Award:

Apps for America 2

We partnered with the Sunlight Foundation to host the winners of Apps for America 2: the Data.gov Challenge. These winners, determined by public voting, were honored on stage:

First Place: DataMasher
Second Place: GovPulse
Third Place: This We Know
Data Visualization: Quakespotter

The First Place and Data Visualization winners were also each awarded a Gov 2.0 Award. Thanks to the Sunlight Foundation for their collaboration!

Gov 2.0 Events

Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase took place the day before Gov 2.0 Summit, an invitation-only gathering of the leadership responsible for this agenda that took place September 9-10. Information, video, photos, presentation files and more can be found at the Gov 2.0 Summit site.
