AMC has greenlighted 2 unscripted series, Kevin Smith’s Secret Stash and JJK Security, about a private security firm. Additionally, the network announced that, just like Season 1 did, the second season of The Walking Dead will launch with a 90-minute premiere episode. It will once again kick off AMC’s two-week long Fearfest on Sunday, Oct, 16. Secret Stash, executive produced by Kevin Smith, Charlie Corwin’s Original Media and Elyse Seiden (Red State), is set in Smith’s iconic comic shop Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash. AMC has ordered 6 hourlong episodes of the series, which aims to capture the world of the neighborhood comic book store and fanboy culture for a 1Q 2012 launch. “Draper.  Meth.  Zombies.  This show couldn’t be on a better network,” said Smith, referring to AMC’s flagship dramas Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.  “AMC is to television what Miramax was to »

'Big Brother': Who will be evicted tonight?

just now | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

I’m bummed, PopWatchers. Not just because I’m fairly certain Big Brother’s useless beggin’ puppy Adam will survive to live in the house another week, but also because football is preempting the show until 1:30 a.m. on the east coast. No Big Brother on Thursday makes Kate go… something something. But that’s okay — surely, if I watched the show tonight, I’d just end up burning all my 90210 DVDs after seeing the episode’s inevitable result. See, Adam?! Look what you made me do!

The upcoming Fox comedy has snapped up Justin Long to play a recurring love interest for Deschanel’s adorkable Jess. Long’s character, Paul, is a music teacher, which makes him the perfect guy for Jess, who likes to sing aloud to herself.

The actor makes his first appearance in the season’s sixth episode and will stick around for two more. Okay, so maybe it won’t be true love forever.

Childrens Hospital: Preview for Tonight's Season Finale

1 hour ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Tonight, the third season finale of Childrens Hospital will be airing on Adult Swim.  Back in season 2, Childrens Hospital aired a "show within a show" episode in the format of a fictional news program called "News Readers".  Tonight's season finale revisits that format.

The promo for tonight's finale (watch it below) features each doctor getting their own spin-off show, including "Doctors With Borders" and "The Ghost Doctorer".  Fans of Childrens Hospital should be happy to know that just a few weeks ago Adult Swim ordered a 14 episode fourth season, so the show will be returning next year.  Rob Corddry, Rob Huebel, Malin Akerman, Lake Bell, Ken Marino, Henry Winkler, Erinn Hayes and Megan Mullally are all expected to return for season 4.

Below the promo we've also included three scenes from the original "News Readers" episode from season 2, just to remind you of the laughs you're in for.

Justin Long to play Zooey Deschanel's love interest on 'The New Girl'

1 hour ago | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Adorable hipster Zooey Deschanel just gained an adorable hipster love interest on The New Girl. Justin Long (Going the Distance) will recur for three episodes on the new Fox comedy, playing Paul, a music teacher and and a suitor for Deschanel’s character Jess. It seems like a match made in heaven, but Paul may have some heavy competition from Jess’ three male roommates. The show will focus on the recently jilted Jess as she transitions from life in a serious relationship to life in an apartment with three random guys, so Paul will probably have issues if he wants some alone time. »

Justin Long To Do Arc On Fox’s New Comedy ‘New Girl’

1 hour ago | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Fox is adding more big-screen star power to new comedy series New Girl, which is toplined by indie darling Zooey Deschanel. In his first major TV role since his breakthrough gig on NBC’s Ed, Justin Long has signed on for a 3-episode arc opposite Deschanel on New Girl. The 20th TV-produced series centers on Jess (Deschanel), an offbeat and adorable girl in her late 20s who, after a bad breakup, moves in with three single guys. Starting with Episode 6, Long will play Paul, a music teacher and Jess’ love interest. The casting stems from Long’s longstanding relationship with New Girl creator/executive producer Liz Meriwether. After his co-starring role on the NBC dramedy Ed, Long switched to features full-time. His only notable TV series appearances since was in an 2006 episode of That ’70s Show, which, like New Girl, aired on Fox. »

'Cougar Town,' 'Himym' producers join forces for CBS comedy

1 hour ago | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The 2011-12 TV season doesn't start for another couple of weeks, but pilot deals for the following season are already being cut.

The latest one involves two veteran producers -- Bill Lawrence ("Cougar Town," "Scrubs," "Spin City") and Greg Malins ("Better With You," "How I Met Your Mother," "Friends") -- teaming up for a comedy at CBS. The network has committed to producing a pilot, Deadline reports.

As for what CBS will get, we don't know. Malins and Lawrence are saying only that it's a multi-camera workplace comedy. They'll co-write the script and executive produce with Jeff Ingold, the head of Lawrence's production company, Doozer.

It's the first pilot deal for Lawrence since he set up shop at Warner Bros. TV after a long stint at ABC Studios. Malins is also based at WB.

Both have other things to keep them occupied while they're putting the CBS project together: Lawrence »
