E-mail Account Verification

Sometimes you shop on Amazon and don't come back for awhile. If you return after having been gone for awhile, you may forget your password or even forget that you have an account with Amazon. In the past, we let customers create a new account in this case, using their same e-mail address. Today, we ask that you verify ownership of your e-mail address before creating an entirely new account. If you think you may have an account already, it's always best to go to www.amazon.com/password to reset your password.

Note: When you create a new account with an e-mail address that's already associated with another account, you won't be able to access other accounts associated with that e-mail address. Those other accounts will not be accessible without also verifying ownership of that e-mail address. If you're unsure of the steps to take, please contact Customer Service.

Verifying Your E-mail Address

When you enter your account e-mail address, we'll send an e-mail to that address. When you receive that message, simply follow the instructions and click on the link in the e-mail message to verify you received it.

Difficulty Verifying Your E-mail Address

If you didn't receive our verification e-mail, first be sure you're entering the e-mail address correctly. The e-mail address must be spelled correctly with the correct domain name. There can be no spaces in the e-mail address.

If you're sure you entered your e-mail address correctly, check your spam or junk folder to see if our e-mail message was filtered there.

If you've checked all of the above, and you're still unable to verify your e-mail address, please contact Customer Service. We'll be happy to look into the problem for you.
