2012 Nissan GT-R photos: Godzilla roars
Driving a car that can reach nearly 200 mph and hit 60 from a dead stop in the 3-second range will change the way you think about transportation. The 2012 Nissan GT-R costs less than $100,000 while achieving performance that usually costs at least twice that boggles the mind. David Thomas of Cars.com was amazed that the drive was so easy. King of the monsters
The GT-R is nicknamed "Godzilla," mainly because of its ability to perform like a monster. But it also sticks out on the street and in parking lots like a giant, radioactive lizard. Even in our test car's stately Deep Blue Pearl paint (along with a classy light gray and black interior) teenagers gawked, fellow commuters whipped out smartphones to snap pictures, and I even got a few smiles from the fairer sex. I can safely say that all of those reactions were likely the car's doing.

Next time I have a loose $100,000+ burning a hole in my pocket, I think I'll spend it on something that won't depreciate $25,000 the minute I drive it off the lot. Who the heck can really make use of all this horsepower crap under the hood on todays highways. Smoky will be handing you a ticket the first chance your stupid enough to try and bury the speedometer at 220 mph, that is if you don't kill yourself or some innocent person in the process. Nissan should state that this vehicle is geared for the professionals who race these things for a living and not the everyday Joe "Bag of Donuts" set of wheels!
