A new mega-resort with a family-friendly vibe will open in Florida's amusement park belt in mid-October. The Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek sits on 500 acres near Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and other attractions with rooms starting at $139 a night.
The resort has 400 rooms and suites (including some with bunk beds for kids) and a lagoon-style pool with water slides and a spa. It opens Oct. 15 with some nice low rates on selected dates.
I found availability for $139 a night plus tax for a room for four people from Oct. 29 to 31 and Dec. 12 to 14, though prices climb on other dates.
Tip: Stay three nights and receive 30 percent off the best available rate. I found a room available over Veterans Day (Nov. 11 to 14) for $160 a night plus tax -- a savings of $69 a night on the same dates.
