Prime Minister's Questions

British Prime Minister's Questions

London
Wednesday, June 29, 2011

During Prime Minister’s Questions, British Prime Minister David Cameron took questions from members in the House of Commons.  Despite disagreement from Opposition Leader Ed Miliband on reforms of the UK's government-funded National Health Service, PM Cameron defended the proposals, saying that it will cut down on bureaucracy and increase the numbers of doctors.  Milibrand avoided PM Cameron’s challenge to the Labour Party's defense of unions by focusing on his critiques of reform.

Other topics raised by House of Commons members included one question on the euro zone financial crisis, as well as many domestic economic related questions on immigration, tax breaks for people who choose private health care, and drug and crime policy.  Even with the pension reform strikes scheduled for tomorrow in the UK, not many questions were asked on the subject.

Each week the House of Commons is in session, C-SPAN airs Prime Minister’s Questions live on C-SPAN 2 Wednesdays at 7am EST and then again Sunday night on C-SPAN at 9pm EST and PT.
