• How rich David Cameron just managed to look really cheap
With most of the Westminster establishment frantically vying to establish man-of-the-people credentials, this week's faux pas by the holidaying Dave "I want to be like common people" Cameron doesn't just take the biscuit.• Is this how we want world to view Northern Ireland?
Take one blazing car. Add so-called "recreational rioters" pushing the vehicle down a street in north Belfast until it careers out of control. Then film the entire proceedings from a police helicopter and release the footage to the media.• Egypt's revolutionary youth are being sidelined
The Egyptian army now colludes with the hated Muslim Brotherhood to bring you – well, a new Egypt that looks much like the old one, cleansed of Mubarak and most (not all) of his henchmen, but with the Army’s corrupt privileges (housing, complexes, banks, etc) safely maintained in return for allowing the bearded ones a share in power.
• Who could reject a baby because it has a squint?
I had my eyes tested this week, the first time in four years. I’d noticed that even with my reading glasses on I was still ending up with eye strain, so it was obviously time to get my lenses updated.
