Bruce Dold

A little about my background: I was a reporter at the Tribune for 12 years, primarily writing about politics, before I joined the editorial board in 1990.

I wrote a column for five years-- great fun, I miss it--until I became the Editorial page editor in 2000.

I'm a graduate of Northwestern University and met my wife, Eileen, when we were both young reporters in the suburbs. She covered Schaumburg. I covered Skokie. It worked.

Eileen writes and edits health care books. We have two daughters: Megan works in Washington, D.C. for a communications firm and Kristen is a junior at Notre Dame. They both have a strong sense of the tremendous value in being involved in their community, their nation. I hope the careers Eileen and I chose had a hand in that.
