I'm a lifelong Chicago-area resident and have worked as an editor at the Chicago Tribune for nearly 30 years. Before my current position I worked in news, special sections, Woman News, Tempo, Perspective and Live! I'm married to Howard Reich, arts critic at the Tribune, who covers the jazz scene and other culture and arts topics.

I love music, particularly jazz, cabaret and classical. I played the piano from grade school into my college years; who knows, I may take it up again one day. Other interests include French, health and family issues. I also like newspaper comic strips and have written several stories about Lynn Johnston, retired creator of "For Better or For Worse." I'm an identical twin, so I'm always interested in stories about twins and other multiples.
