Football | Lineup for Prep Bowl Kick-off Classic set
If you slept on last season's Prep Bowl Kick-off, you might want to think twice about missing this season's event.
To refresh your memory, Simeon and Morgan Park went into Soldier Field and upset highly regarded Mount Carmel and Providence to start off a surprising season.
The two Public League leaders have a chance to do it again this season.
Simeon will face Mount Carmel in the opening game on August 26, starting at 2:30 p.m. Providence will look to avoid the upset two seasons in a row at 5:15 p.m. against Morgan Park.
To close the night,St. Ignatius will face Whitney Young at 8 p.m.
This season's games honor the First Responders in the Chicago area.
"We are especially pleased to honor the contribution of the men and women of the Chicago area police, fire, and emergency services departments," said Mount Carmel coach Frank Lenti in a release. "While playing these games in this historic building is privilege, it is important for our student athletes to recognize the heroic contributions the First Responders make in all of our daily lives."
Tickets for the event are available through the schools or at the gate.
