University of Michigan Names International Knight-Wallace Fellows

The Knight-Wallace Fellows program at the University of Michigan has awarded fellowships to five international journalists for the 2011-2012 academic year. Twelve American journalists were named in May. The group is the 38th to be offered fellowships by the University of Michigan.

International Fellows and their study projects are:

Roger Harrabin, environmental analyst, BBC (London); Scarcity: How many rich people can the Earth take?

Alencar Izidoro, reporter, Folha de Sao Paulo (Brazil); Urban Centers and Public Transportation.

Jung-wan Joo, senior reporter, JoongAng Ilbo (Seoul); Changes in the financial markets after the 2008 global financial crisis.

Susanne Koelbl, foreign correspondent, Der Spiegel (Berlin); Syria and its relationship with its neighbors.

Marcelo Leite, opinion editor, Folha de Sao Paulo (Brazil); Economic History and the position Brazil holds among the BRIC countries.
