Julie Johnsson
Reporter/Writer
My Role
I cover aerospace and airlines, basically anything involving planes and the people who fly and make them. Before landing at the Tribune, I wrote about everything from airports to banks to cell phones for Crain's Chicago Business. I also chronicled the local technology scene as a Crain's columnist.
My Biography
My fascination with aviation started early, collecting airline mementos as a tot criss-crossing the globe. The crew pins and cockpit tours that Pan Am lavished on kids loomed large in a childhood divided among three continents. I graduated from Andrews University in Michigan, earned a masters from Northwestern and decided to stick around Chicago.
My Interests
Traveling, food, music, scoops.
