Carl is responsible for generating ideas for and editing visual coverage for the Chicago Tribune, both on line and print, working hand in hand with photographers, writers, editors and reporters. He has edited for every section of the paper as well as working the assignment desk.

Carl has been a resident of the Chicago area for nearly forty years. He joined the Tribune in October of 2002 after working as a photographer and editor with various magazines, newspapers and documentary projects.
