I was born in Evanston and raised Tucson, Ariz. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame and worked in Arizona for four years before coming to Northwestern for a master's in journalism. After graduation from Medill, I joined the Sun-Times, where I worked for more than a dozen years before joining the Tribune in early 2010.
