KINGSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - University of Rhode Island's Delroy James averaged 17 points as a senior and earned All-Atlantic 10 honors. Now, he's looking for a future in the NBA.
The forward scored double digits in three starts against other draft prospects at the Portsmouth Invitational and followed that by being one of the most mentioned players at the New Jersey Nets Draft Combine.
"When I go into these camps, I try to prove myself, and I always think I can play with the best of them," James said.
Getting drafted would make James the first URI player to be picked since Lamar Odom was chosen in the first round in 1999.
James now heads out on the interview circuit, trying to impress NBA executives and scouts.\
"Going out there with passion and heart goes a long way," James said.
