The Visionary theme is loaded with quite a few options that you can set from your Visionary Settings page. This will save you a lot of coding work.
Just log into your WordPress dashboard and go to Design > Visionary Settings.
Your theme settings page will be set up in this order.
About this theme
This section gives you information about your theme, such as what version you’re using.
There are links to the support forums and the theme’s page that you can easily access if you need to find out how something works.
General settings
These are basic settings for your blog’s display and how it functions
- Sidebar position
- Choose whether you want your sidebar to display on the left or right of your content.
- Feedburner URL
- Input your Feedburner URL, and the theme will automatically include it for you. This defaults to your WordPress RSS feed.
- Feedburner ID
- Input this if you want to show a link for email subscriptions to your Feedburner account.
- Tabs functionality
- This will allow you to choose how tabbed sections function on your site. “Click” means that users must click the tab to change its content. “Hover” means that users only have to hover their mouse over the tab to change it. This does not apply to video sections, which will remain only clickable.
- Category feature
- This setting will change the first post on all your category pages into a feature article. It’s a very nice feature for more of a magazine look.
- Author bio
- Check this if you want to show your author’s biographical information and gravatar at the end of single posts.
- Author archive bio
- Select this if you want to show the author bio with an avatar on your author archive pages.
- Print stylesheet
- Check this input to have the theme automatically include a formatted print stylesheet. This is great for those folks that want a printed version of your articles.
Home page settings
This is how the home page of your blog will display. Most of these sections have guides on how to use them on their own documentation pages.
- Feature
- The feature article is the first thing displayed on your blog. You can select a category or tag that you want this article to be pulled from. The category will override the tag. If nothing is chosen, the latest post will be shown.
- Home insert
- You can add XHTML or JavaScript to this section to have it inserted between your feature article and excerpts section. You might also have to style this in your stylesheet.
- Excerpts display
- There are two options: Normal and Block. Normal excerpts span the width of the content column. Block excerpts show your excerpts in side-by-side blocks.
Header and footer settings
Choose how things function in your header and footer.
- Header insert
- You can add JavaScript and XHTML in this section. Please note that this will be displayed between the
<head></head>
tags on your site. So, be careful what you add there. It’s probably best to only add JavaScript in this section. - Footer insert
- You can add lots of stuff to this section. Your imagination is your limit. I believe the best use of it would be for adding stuff like tracking code for services such as Google Analytics.
- Site footer
- This will auto-generate your site’s name and copyright information in the footer. Something like — Your site title © 2008.
- WordPress love
- This is a totally optional link that will append a link back to WordPress.org in the footer.
- Credit removal
- If you’ve purchased credit removal, you can input your credit removal key and ID here to have the theme automatically remove the links back to ThemeHybrid.com
