Motorists in Britain are today getting their first chance to see the new Citroen DS4 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed - along with several other 'treats’ organised by the car firm.

Visitors to the Festival will be able to see the new Citroen at the Moving Motor Show on June 30 before it goes on sale on July 4.

The car firm says that the DS4 offers a "unique blend of elegant coupe styling", along with five-door versatility and a "commanding raised stance".

Citroen’s eye-catching 204bhp DS3 Racing is also available for test drives during the Moving Motor Show. With only 200 examples planned for the UK, the special edition hot hatch takes just 6.5 seconds to reach 62mph and has a top speed of 146mph.

The car firm is also highlighting its eco credentials at Goodwood with its Survolt all-electric racing car concept, on show in the Supercar Paddock. It will be racing up the hillclimb twice a day.

The carbon-fibre coupe has a top speed of 162 mph and can hit 62mph from a standstill in under five seconds, while the concept’s twin 140kg lithium-ion batteries each have a 31kW capacity, allowing the Survolt to cover 124 miles.

Also looking towards the future is Citroen’s Hypnos diesel-hybrid concept, on static display in the FoS-TECH Pavilion. On the Forest Rally Stage, meanwhile, Citroen’s DS3 R3 rally car will be in action, sideways.

Developed by the six-time World Championship-winning Citroen Racing Team, the turbocharged 1.6-litre model is intended to provide a stepping stone to top-flight competition for young drivers aspiring to follow in the footsteps of Citroen’s Sebastien Loeb.

It will be put through its paces by 2009 British Junior Rally Champion, Marty McCormack. The 25-year-old from Northern Ireland currently drives the DS3 R3 in the British Rally Championship.

To round off Citroen’s rally theme, a static example of the 300bhp DS3 WRC - which has won five rallies in 2011 - is on display on the firm’s stand.
