Emblems of Alberta

The emblems of Alberta reflect the province's history, its natural and diverse landscapes, and its people.

Use of Emblems and Armorial Bearings

The Government of Alberta armorial bearings (shield and coat of arms) are its most highly regarded symbols and are reserved for use by elected officials and individuals representing the Crown or the interests of the government, and are for use by permission only.  Individuals and businesses are not permitted to benefit financially from their reproduction or use. 

In addition, use of the stylized Government of Alberta logo is restricted to use by provincial government departments and its agencies.

The Emblems of Alberta Act does allow other emblems (flower, mammal, bird, fish, tree, stone, flag, tartans and grass) to be reproduced, based on the original drawings, and as long as the reproductions are in good taste.

All requests for reproduction of the armorial bearings must be submitted in writing to:
