Theatre-Hikes takes steps in new direction

Something's a-foot at Theatre-Hikes, the Chicago company that combines performance with exercise.

The founding artistic director, Frank Farrell, is now managing director.  Bradley Baker is taking over the artistic helm.

The summer 2010 season also features expanded fare, produced in more locales.

The slate features a production of "Robin Hood" staged in actual forests, and (later in the summer) "Peter Pan." Both are to be performed first at the North Park Village Nature Center in Chicago and then at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle.

Toward the end of the summer, Adam Webster of the Side Project will direct an outdoor "Our Town," which (in addition to the two usual locales) will be performed at the Pullman State Historic Site in Chicago.

And in October, Baker will direct the Jeffrey Hatcher version of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," deep in the spooky woods of the Morton Arboretum.
