Pedestrian dies after bus collision

An elderly woman has died after being struck by a bus in the Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill.
The woman, 74-year-old Patricia Davis, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after the incident that happened on Stoddard Road at about 11.20am.
But police have confirmed that she died from injuries she suffered several hours later.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
A witness from nearby shop, David's Haircare, said the woman had stepped out in front of the bus after misjudging how far away it was.
"By the time she made up her mind [to cross] the driver had no chance to stop."
Stoddard Road between Richardson and Denize Roads was closed while police investigated, but has been reopened.
