My Role

Erika Slife is a general assignment reporter based in the Tribune Tower. She covers the Chicago Park District, and is also part of a team covering the ongoing case against former Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson. She writes feature and investigative stories involving government, crime, women and children.
My Biography

Slife began her career at the Tribune working as an intern at the newspaper's Capitol bureau while studying public affairs reporting at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She graduated with a master's degree in 2005 and continued an internship with the newspaper at the Tribune Tower. In the fall of the 2005, she accepted a job at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, based in Fort Lauderdale, where she worked for two years covering politics and the city of Delray Beach, Fla. She returned to the Tribune in the fall of 2007.
