Richard Lodge is editor-in-chief of a group of GateHouse Media newspapers based in Framingham, including the MetroWest Daily News, Milford Daily News and 14 weeklies. Lodge has been an editor in the company since 1993. Before then he worked as assistant managing editor of The Lowell Sun; night city editor of The (Portland, Maine) Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram; and worked as an editor, reporter and photographer at several dailies and weeklies in Massachusetts. A native of southern Indiana, Lodge settled in Massachusetts after moving east to attend Boston University, where he received a bachelor's in journalism. Arts Calendar, Linda Hemstedt

Linda Hemstedt has been an editorial assistant in the Editorial Department of MetroWest Daily News for 25 years, starting shortly after the birth of the first of two daughters. She compiles and enters event listings for the daily and weekly print calendars and the online calendar and the same for student achievements, birth announcements, volunteer listings, support group listings, the senior citizen page and the Arts Calendar, all in the Sunday Hometown section. She is a graduate of Natick High School, Class of '73, and Mass. Bay in Wellesley, Class of '75, and has resided in Bellingham for the past 26 years.

Metro editor for new media, Nicole Simmons

Nicole Simmons is the metro editor for new media for the west unit of Community Newspaper Company, helping keep the daily and Wicked Local web sites up-to-date, dynamic and relevant. A Springfield native, she started with CNC as a reporter in 1999, covering Marlborough education. She went on to cover Marlborough City Hall before joining the copy desk as a page editor. Simmons joined the Milford Daily News staff as the Sunday regional editor before returning to MetroWest Daily News as the new media editor in 2007. Simmons, a Marlborough resident, also writes a food blog for the paper, Food for Thought.

Opinion Editor, Rick Holmes

Rick Holmes is Opinion Editor for the MetroWest Daily News and Milford Daily News, a position he has held since 1994. A native of western Mass., he earned his B.A. at Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif. He began his newspaper career in Tennessee, before joining the then-Middlesex News in 1985. As opinion editor, he is responsible for handling letters to the editor and opinion columns. He convenes the editorial board, which regularly meets with elected officials, newsmakers and community leaders. Holmes writes editorials and a Sunday column, which also appear in many other GateHouse Media publications. He blogs on the issues of the day at Holmes & Co.

Sports Editor, Art Davidson

A native of Framingham, MetroWest Daily News senior sports editor Art Davidson graduated from Framingham North in 1972. He graduated from Holy Cross with a degree in political science in 1976 and received a master's degree in journalism from Boston University in 1978. He has been a member of the MetroWest News sports staff since 1980. Davidson was formerly assistant sports editor and deputy sports editor before becoming senior sports editor of CNC West in 2008. A longtime Red Sox beat writer, Davidson is a former chapter chairman of the Baseball Writers Association of America, is currently on the board of directors of the BBWAA and is a Hall of Fame voter. He is also a member of the Holy Cross Varsity Club.

Art Illman is chief photographer at The MetroWest Daily News. His news photography career began at the Waltham News Tribune in 1981. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire. He has won numerous New England Press Association awards. Art and his family live in Maynard.
