The Ice Cave
Reason for banning: Racial insensitivity

This episode, as well as other episodes starring Jynx were banned or censored from American television, after civil rights organizations noticed her unfortunate appearance. Carole B. Weatherford, renowned author, was one of the first to point out that Jynx portrayed a rather atrocious stereotype.

"The character Jynx, Pokémon #124, has decidedly human features: jet-black skin, huge pink lips, gaping eyes, a straight blonde mane and a full figure, complete with cleavage and wiggly hips," said Weatherford in an article in the Christian Science Monitor. "Put another way, Jynx resembles an overweight drag queen incarnation of Little Black Sambo, a racist stereotype from a children's book long ago purged from libraries."

In response Nintendo changed the character's appearance and Warner Bros banned and edited the cartoons.

Dratini's Legend
Reason for banning: Popping a cap in your Ash

The sheer number of times people pull guns on each other in this episode is incredible. The cranky old warned of the Safari Zone is some sort of cowboy wannabe, and carries a couple of six shooters. All throughout the episode he threatens to shoot Ash and friends, pointing the guns in their faces. The best part is that it's for the most ridiculous things, like when the characters are singing obnoxiously. At one point he actually unloads a clip or two at Team Rocket during their stupid poem, officially making himself the most badass character in the Pokemon universe. Later in the episode Team Rocket holds the warden at gunpoint, almost making them hardcore, but then follows it up with an unveiling of a robot that tickles people (I hate you so freaking much Jesse and James). This is one of the episodes that always confused me, since it seems like America would be the country that shouldn't have a problem with guns, right? Maybe they just don't like it when old guys threaten to murder children every thirty seconds.
