I Have seen various movies portraying the character of Barabas, (which the Bible says almost nothing about, except that he was released from custody by Pilate instead of Jesus) Some are famous like "The Passion", and an old classic starring Anthony Quinn. However, I felt this was the best one to show the changing power of Christ's redeeming grace. The star, James Daly, (I remember him best from the Twilight Zone) portrayed a cold-hearted thief and murderer who was arrested but later, as we know, set free. He was met with suspicion and strife from his old criminal friends, but mostly tormented by the mystery of who this "Jesus" was and why he was spared instead. You see Barabas's character changing -for the better - as he searches for some hard answers and discovers the road of redemption and God's forgiveness. I have only seen it once, fourteen years ago! I can't wait to see it again.
