President Obama delivered the commencement address at Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis. The school was chosen as a finalist for the Commencement Challenge because of its inspiring turn-around story, and the public voted it to be the winner.

On National Teacher Appreciation Day, President Obama welcomed Teachers of the Year to the White House, thanked them for their service, and shared a story about one of his favorite teachers.

On Teacher Appreciation Day, Secretary Duncan visited Randolph Elementary School in Arlington, Va, where he thanked teachers for "the hard work and the difference you’re making in children's lives."

"I want every child in this country to head back to school in the fall knowing that their education is America’s priority," President Obama said. "Let’s fix No Child Left Behind."
