For those of you keeping score at home, that will be actor Christian Slater, currently seen in the new Fox series “Breaking In,” throwing out the first pitch for Saturday’s 7:10 p.m. game between the Florida Marlins and the Washington Nationals. Of course, after the game there’s the Super Saturday concert with Grammy winner T-Pain and Jay Sean. Cast members from the movie comedy "Cougars Inc." will meet with fans before Friday night's Florida Marlins game at Sun Life Stadium.
An autograph session will begin at 6 p.m. at The Strike Zone at Gate H. Included will be Eddie Murphy's son Christian Murphy (TV’s “The Shield”) (left), Catalina Rodriguez (TV’s “Watch Over Me”) and Cary Alexander ("Open House").
Murphy will throw out the game's first pitch at 6:45 p.m.
"Cougars Inc.," starring Jim Belushi, Denise Richards and Sarah Hyland ("Modern Family"), is due for a DVD release on Tuesday.

Join the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and fellow fans for a bar crawl through downtown hot spots that ends with a watch party for the Strikers' game against Minnesota on Saturday night.
The crawl begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at T-Mex in the Himmarshee District with two-for-one well drinks and drafts. At 5:45 p.m. the group moves to Himmarshee Bar & Grill for $2 vodka well drinks. At 6:30 p.m. they go down the street to Briny Pub for a free round of shots, $2 well drinks and $3 domestic drafts. At 7:15 p.m. they head east to Tarpon Bend, which will give you your first round free. At 8:30 p.m. watch the Strikers play on Tarpon Bend's big screen.
Drink specials are only for those with the Strikers Bar Crawl. Talk to a team rep when you get there and they'll give you a band, or go to strikers.com.

Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, and Tate's Comics in Lauderhill has so many stacked up for giveaway that everyone that comes in can have five titles each.
Free Comic Book Day is an annual event held on the first Saturday in May, when participating shops across North America give away special comic books, from superheroes like Spiderman and Green Lantern to the Smurfs and Archie (extra large selection of kids titles this year). Tate's always participates, but check your neighborhood store to see if they are in, too.

Yes, Mother’s Day weekend ... Tough one. No getting around it, though, you’ve gotta make a statement. Years of experience have told me that the easiest way is to get outside of yourself, your comfort zone, by taking the family somewhere that you might not otherwise go. A little sacrifice goes a long way.
Butterfly World: The soothing music and the gentle flutter of the inhabitants under shady trees is the perfect antidote to her stressfulness (but watch your head for those crazy birds). The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: One of the most relaxing and beautiful spots in South Florida, the museum on Sunday offers Mother’s Day origami card making from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It costs $2 to participate and is first come, first served. Fairchild Tropical Gardens: Another enchanting slice of South Florida, where you can treat her to brunch or afternoon tea on the veranda.
