My roommates and I recently signed a lease to live at the Crows Nest apartments in De Pere, WI. This website still lists the price for our particular floorplan as just under $800 a month, and when we mentioned it to our future landlord about a month ago, she said it was incorrect and supposed to be changed. I was wondering if there is any way to find out if she's telling the truth, or if she is just charging us almost $200 more a month and trying to take advantage of us. Has she contacted this site and requested the numbers be changed, and they just haven't been posted yet? Thanks for your help

I'm mostly curious so that if this is incorrect, you can have the correct information on your website. Hopefully the time between changes made and posted changes isn't quite that long in other cases.

I live in a ground floor apt in Crosswinds apts recently purchased by another leasing company Viera Bayside. As part of the new owner's plans, an extensive and very loud renovation of the apt directly above ours was started apx. 3 weeks ago. I never received any notice of the work that would take place in the apt above us; only that there would be improvements on and around the property. The noise begins apx 7:30a and lasts until apx 7:30p. and goes 7 days a week. Workers pace in front of my full sized sliding patio door and have actually stopped to watch my activity at different times of the day. I work from home and on occasion, leave to go out on appointments. As recent as last night (4/3/2011) one of the workers brought in pots & pans and spent the night in the apt. This evening, I witnessed the same person standing on the balcony drinking from a bottle resembling a Jack Daniel's. We (neighbors) have complained to the office / property manager and get no where. DO NOT RENT HERE!

There wasn't enough space to mention the 2 shootings, 3 calls to police regarding domestic violence in the apt behind us. Management does nothing about any concerns or complaints other than harass tenants when issues are escalated to corporate. In Florida, we as tenants, have the right to a peaceful and quiet enjoyment of our leased home. However; this has not been the case with this property.

Huguley78 that was a dumb answer. This what you need to do. The day he/she/it hits you call them boyz in blu. get his bitch ass out of there. And in the mean while sign up for section 8. Or bash him over the head when his fake ass is sleeping and then call someone to get the fuk out there.

Huguley78 answered at 3/25/2011 8:37:11 AM

Babyphat - That sounds like a bad situation and you are making a great decision getting out of there. You might be able to find an apartment in your market for under 600, but that sounds like it would be all your money. Maybe you have a friend or family member you can stay with while you get on your feet. Either way, stay strong.

I am a property manager and yes you the property management company reserves the right not to renew your lease. They do not have to give you a reason; however they do by the Tennessee Landlord Act have to give you a 30 day notice.

Huguley78 answered at 3/24/2011 4:29:46 PM

Nanna - That sounds like an unfortunate situation. Because leases can differ, you would need to look at the details of your copy of the lease you signed. It SHOULD tell you how much time they would be required to give you. You might also consult with an attorney to see what your legal rights are in the situation. Best of luck...

All prices on the listings found on our site are set by the community themselves. That said, a community always reserves the right to change their rate at any time.

Hey BBledsoe - I've created a page for you that lists all of the communities in Jacksonville that have listed themselves as furnished. http://jacksonville-fl.apartmenthomeliving.com/apartments-for-rent/furnished/BBledsoe-Apartments. Be sure to give some of the ones in the list that you might be interested in a call to make sure they have furnished units currently available. Best of luck on your search.

I am also in the Process of filing for bankruptcy due to credit card irresponsibility (about $8,000 in debt) and medical bills. I would like to know if I am honest and upfront of my situation along with a bigger deposit, what are my chances of getting an apartment?

Huguley78 answered at 3/25/2011 9:20:53 AM

M1689 - While I can't really confirm your chances because it will vary depending on the community you are applying for, I can tell you that it is always important to be honest about your situation. If they find out about it and you didn't tell them, it could mean you'd have little chance to lease or could even lead to eviction if they find out after you'd leased. You might consider finding a co-signer to offer to sign the lease with you. Often this really helps better your chances in a bankruptsy situation. Best of luck!

I am a property manager and have been for over 15 years. They should have given you a reciept for that deposit and I hope you kept it. Look in the lease where it states what you deposit was and compare with your reciept. They lease should have been signed by you and a member of that company, which then makes it legal. So, if they said you oves XYZ and you paid XYZ and you have the above documentation then you are fine legally. Unfortunatly, some managers when they make a mistake and are in trouble with the company they are hoping the resident is ignorant and will just pay or do what they say. Please, don't fall in to this awful trap. I cannot stand managers like this. We may work for a company but in reality we work for the residents because NO residents no job NO pay check. So, I try my hardest to help in anyway I can for everyone of my residents. Let me know how it turns out.

Huguley78 answered at 3/25/2011 9:24:06 AM

Angella - You would need to take a look at the lease you signed to see what your responsibility would be. You might even take it to an attorney and get consultation on your situation as it might be a legal matter.
