On National Teacher Appreciation Day, President Obama welcomed Teachers of the Year to the White House, thanked them for their service, and shared a story about one of his favorite teachers.

On Teacher Appreciation Day, Secretary Duncan visited Randolph Elementary School in Arlington, Va, where he thanked teachers for "the hard work and the difference you’re making in children's lives."

Booker T. Washington High School is the winner of the 2011 Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge. President Obama will travel to Memphis on Monday, May 16th to deliver the commencement for the class of 2011.

"I want every child in this country to head back to school in the fall knowing that their education is America’s priority," President Obama said. "Let’s fix No Child Left Behind."
