Paul, Marley and Avery Cameron enjoy a sunny Family Day on the Rideau Canal.
On Family Day, we decided to go for a walk on Jack Pine Trail. We had bought bird seeds at the Wild Bird Care Center close by. My husband decided to put some seeds on our daughter's head.
I was just heading out to take some tourist photos of Ottawa when I happened across the Libyan Rally.
My wife Michele and I were enjoying breakfast in a chalet in Papineau-Labelle park, where we spent the weekend of Feb. 18 to 20 cross-country skiing, when we saw this fox trotting along in front of our window. We had seen him earlier headed in the other direction and when he returned, he had dinner, which appeared to be a rabbit, between his chops and he was obviously headed home for a feast.
Spring may not be far, but there was still plenty of snow left in Papineau-Labelle park where we enjoyed some cross-country skiing last weekend, as evidenced by this well covered picnic table we saw on one of the trails.
Fresh snow and dogs ready to go....

1st Greely Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers celebrated Lord Baden Powell day with a grand bonfire at the Greely Legion last night. Discarded shipping pallets and Christmas trees sure throw-off a lot of heat!

Worlds away from the political intrigue surrounding the release of Aung San Sui Kyi and the hustle and bustle of Yangon, a lonely Myanmar fisherman casts his net on the Irrawaddy river by Bagan as the sun sets.
My neighbour has a statue of a dog at his front door to discourage unwanted visitors but with all the snow we have received lately, I don't think anyone will be afraid of this guard dog.
My son and grandson skating on an outdoor rink.
These two stags were seen together on The Old Quarry Trail in Kanata.
At the end of my walk at the Jack Pine trail, was just about ready to go home when this lovely lady came out to nibble on some pieces of carrots left on a bench.

Giant Spider at the National Gallery in the snow.
My friend's four male cats very gingerly ventured out of the house to check out the winter scene. Jake, the front cat, is unperturbed by the snow and marches forward gallantly. The last two cats, Alfie and Indy are hesitant and more cautious.
This white wild turkey was in a flock of regular coloured wild turkeys.

This was taken on Valentine's day, travelling with my fiance in a tow truck on a bumpy road. The sky was so beautiful...but you had to be there to see it.
Glimmer of spring today, Feb. 16/11, in Wakefield, as some ice slides off a roof, and hopes of eating ice cream cones will not be far off!
