Mansfield factory fire causes road closure

A Nottinghamshire road has been closed off after a fire at a derelict factory made the structure unsafe.

Fire crews were called to the old Metalbox factory on Bath Lane in Mansfield at about 1700 BST on Thursday.

The three-storey building was well alight and took crews from Mansfield, Ashfield and Warsop several hours to put out.

Bath Lane is closed between the Rock Valley and Sandy Lane junctions.

Demolition experts have been called in to advise on how best to take the unsafe structure down.

Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.
