OTTAWA — A 23-year-old man was in hospital after a single vehicle collision in South Keys early Sunday morning.

The man, who was driving an Infinity G35, struck a tree at high-speed, demolishing the car at 7:30 a.m. on Mother's Day, Ottawa Paramedics Service said.

The driver was alone in the car. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the Civic Hospital and was reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Police said alcohol was a factor in the collision and charges would be laid.

Cahill Drive east between Cutts and Marlin privates was closed for several hours Sunday, but was re-opened just before 1 p.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the East District, Patrol Operations, Duty NCO Desk at 613-236-1222 ext: 3212 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS) or toll free at 1-800-222-8477.
