Like the wedding of Mickey Mouse and Minnie at Disneyland (the US' most recognizable tourist attraction) and just as relevant.

Absolutely beautiful, heart-warming, inspiring, joyful. A great day in London!
PrinceForeskin
I think its funny that conservatives find this wedding to be joyous.
Aren't these the very same people (the royals) we fought a war against to throw them out of this country?
al-nafs
@Foreskin:
That was over 200 years ago. I believe our nations have become great friends since then. So lets just be happy for the new young couple, don't be a mindless hater dude.
PrinceForeskin
You're right, al...
Sometimes I forget to forget.
My bad.
whipmawhopma
@PrinceForeskin - Several wars and until the American acquisition of about half of Mexico the British had great ambitions for the American republic to fold and once again become part of the empire.
AliceJ
Very joyful. But I don't know why the rather vulgarly named Prince Foreskin thinks it's the conservatives who find this wedding to be joyous. By all measures, I'm pretty liberal and I loved the pomp and pagent.
Coltrane65
it is the women regardless of politics that find it wonderful, the men just find it as one more death sentence
lillymckim
Lovely wedding!
whipmawhopma
@maxiepad - Actually it is. A cash cow.

Gringo news in a gringo country. Read it and weep. The name is United States. If you try hard you might learn American, but no matter how many babies you have, one of them will never be a princess.

The media gives plenty of coverage to Latino illegal immigrants, sadly, much of it on the local police blotter page. As for making up 99% of the US, they certainly are enthusiastic breeders, as anyone knows who has had to pay a hospital bill grossly inflated to cover the costs of illegals who don't pay.

relax lefties, the obama-wama show gets started in a few.
everybodyknows
I can't believe someone has tried to make the royal wedding on the other side of the Atlantic into an American political split issue.
I have news for you. Lots of Americans are interested in this wedding and lots are not. They come from all political parties and religious beliefs, including no belief whatsoever. The only thing they have in common is that they are Americans, which is a much greater thing to remember than what divides them.
jdr9599
everybody..Best post on the thread, thanks for saying what I was thinking.
whipmawhopma
Then you have to consider the quality of the candidates set to run against him. Obama became POTUS largely because of the continuous disaster that was the BUSH II administration. Had Bush II been as capable as Bush I, or even Reagan, there might not have been an Obama administration. Though I doubt McCain would have been nominated. It would have been the VP running, had Bush II not made a mistake there.
@everybodyknows - Why can't you believe it? For some people factionalism is what it's all about 24x7x365. Even in their dreams while asleep. On the left and on the right, points in between, and elsewhere.
whipmawhopma
Sorry, overposted.

What, no pictures of the Queen or Charles?
al-nafs
It's not their day. It's William and Kate's day. I think its nice that their family is not in the limelight.
whipmawhopma
Sir Elton John was in one of the pictures.
Dasha1
Oh, yes! So lovely a celebration! How could we not endow it with rancorous American politics.
GradSchool
Wow... Pippa is stunning..
What's her status?
rodtanner
Actually, it will still be a few centuries before the Latino population grows from 30 percent to 99 percent. And by then the Chinese will likely have purchased the entire Western Hemisphere, anyway. I wouldn't quit your day job just yet.

Wonderful coverage as usual. A few notes: Pic 5 -- the plural is Governors General; Pic 13 -- they didn't exchange rings. William gave Catherine one; Pic 26 -- the service was led by the Dean of Westminster, not the Archbishop of Canterbury.

I stayed awake until the part where Kate arrived at Abbey. I am glad they got married even when I was not awake to watch. Still have snacks on table.

One can hope that the young Duchess will have better luck staying happy and staying alive than her ill-fated late mother-in-law.

astin martin?
anyone remind them not to push the red button under the gear shift knob?
TechChick
LOL!
And what was up with the "JU5T WED"? If they were just 1 letter away from correct spelling, why not "JUST WED?"
TechChick
David Beckham looked amazing !
Victoria on the other hand: like some pooped up badly dressed goth celebrity- does she know what a smile is?

I think though being pro Kate and Wills, should not have to mean that a person has to be pro inherited monarchy.
Thank you.
