Heavy Lobbying Keeps Red Light Cameras On Track

A proposal to allow 13 Connecticut cities and towns to install red light cameras has cleared two legislative committees. The cameras would record violations that would cost at least $124 per ticket.

Up to now, the Connecticut General Assembly has never approved any of the bills offered in recent years that would enable cities and towns to install cameras at red lights and collect fines by mailing tickets to violators.
