A publicist says actress Elizabeth Taylor died Wednesday in LA of congestive heart failure at age 79.

Canadian icon William Shatner turned 80 today and is still kicking with three current television shows.

By the new millennium, the Junos had tinkered with the up-and-comer categories and were honouring best new artist and new group. And while a few of the 1990s winners saw their careers quickly fizzle, '01 marked the crowning of two future Juno favourites: Victoria songstress Nelly Furtado and Hanna, Alta., hard-rockers Nickelback. The two pop powerhouses have combined for 20 more Juno wins in the decade since.
