    Pete founded Mashable in 2005 as a blog focused on up-to-the-minute news on social networks and digital trends. Since then, Mashable quickly grew to be one of the top 10 and most profitable blogs in the world.

    Pete was named one of Ad Age’s 2011 influencers, a Time Magazine 100 in 2010, and a Forbes magazine web celeb 25. He was also named a Briton of the year by the Telegraph in 2010.

  • Adam Ostrow is a new media entrepreneur, consultant, and commentator. As Editor in Chief at Mashable, Adam is responsible for the editorial management and direction of one of the most widely read blogs in the world, covering the latest technologies, trends, and individuals that are driving the current evolution of the Web.

    Adam is a graduate of The University of Maryland, from which he holds a B.A. in Journalism and was awarded Most Outstanding Senior in the school’s prestigious Hinman CEOs program.   • Sharon Feder Managing Editor

    Sharon is the managing editor of Mashable, where she is responsible for editorial strategy, operations and staff hiring and management. Previously, she held the position of features editor, building and overseeing the site’s guest writer and contributor programs and co-creating the popular Mashable Guide Books for Twitter and Facebook. Sharon joined Mashable in June 2008 as assistant editor.

    Before joining Mashable, Sharon held positions in media and communications. She also co-founded and subsequently sold MySocialDog, a hyper-local social network for dog owners.

    Sharon is a graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz and received her B.A. in journalism. She is based in New York.

  • Chris Taylor San Francisco Bureau Chief

    Chris, a veteran journalist with more than 15 years of experience, heads up Mashable’s San Francisco office. In addition, he edits the following sections: Tech & Gadgets, Mobile, Startups and Dev & Design.

    Hailing from the U.K., Chris got his start working on a variety of national newspapers in London and Glasgow. He moved to the U.S. in 1996, and became senior news writer for Time.com a year later. In 2000, he was named San Francisco bureau chief for Time magazine. In the past five years, he has served as senior editor for Business 2.0, West Coast editor for Fortune Small Business and West Coast web editor for Fast Company.

    Chris is a graduate of Merton College, Oxford and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He is also a long-time volunteer at 826 Valencia, the nationwide after-school program co-founded by author Dave Eggers.

  • Charlie WhiteSenior Editor

    Charlie is senior editor for Mashable, where he is responsible for gadget news and reviews and oversees the site’s weekend coverage. Charlie joined Mashable in December 2010 and is based in the Midwest.

    Before joining Mashable, Charlie wrote for Wired and Popular Science magazines, and was senior associate editor for popular gadget site Gizmodo, as well as deputy editor of NBC Universal’s tech site, DVICE. He has been covering the Internet since its infancy and in a previous life spent 30 years as an Emmy award-winning television producer/director, directing five national TV series for public television.

    His personal interests include the evaluation and testing of the latest social media innovations, gadgets, consumer electronics products and digital video equipment.

    Charlie is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he received his bachelor’s degree in television and music.

  • Todd Wasserman Business and Marketing Editor

    Todd is the business and marketing editor for Mashable, where he oversees the site’s business, marketing and media coverage and staff. Todd joined Mashable in December 2010 and is based in New York.

    Before joining Mashable, Todd was the editor in chief of Brandweek and held various positions at the publication. Previously, he wrote for Computer Retail Week and various daily newspapers including the Herald & News in Passaic, N.J., and the Register-Citiizen in Torrington, Conn.

    His work has also appeared in The New York Times, Business 2.0, The Hollywood Reporter and Inc., among other publications. His personal interests include racquetball and Scrabble.

    Todd is a graduate of the University of Albany.

  • Ben Parr is the Co-Editor of Mashable, as well as a tech entrepreneur, sci-fi author, and aspiring world changer. He first started writing for Mashable in August 2008. In addition to his duties at Mashable, Ben works on his own start-up ideas and recently completed his first sci-fi thriller novel, Desel. His previous experience includes project management for Facebook apps and content management in the web health space.

    Ben has been frequently quoted by mainstream media, including CNN, G4, the BBC, Wired, The Telegraph, Playboy, and The New York Times. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, majoring in science in human culture and political science and minoring in business.

  • Stan Schroeder European Editor

    Stan has been writing for Mashable since 2007, and having the benefit (or the curse) of working in a European time zone, he’s taken the post of European Editor. He’s been a pro IT journalist in Croatia for more than six years, having written, among numerous other publications, for the biggest local IT paper magazine, Bug, as well as one of the biggest local web portals, tportal.hr. Interested in writing in English, he started his (now existing only as archive) blog, FranticIndustries, and he also co-founded (and subsequently sold) whoishostingthis.com, a simple tool for determining the hosting provider of any website. He’s an undergraduate of the Philosophic Faculty of Zagreb, working toward a B.A. in English language and literature as well as information science. He lives in Zagreb, Croatia, and spends his free time pursuing one of his many interests, which include CrossFit, collecting band t-shirts, tinkering with gadgets and hardware and generally leading a frantic lifestyle.

  • Brenna Ehrlich Associate Editor, Media & Entertainment

    Brenna Ehrlich began editing and blogging at Mashable in November 2009. Before joining the team, she served as Associate Editor of Heeb Magazine and freelanced for a variety of print and online publications. She earned her B.A. in theater and English at Northwestern University, as well as her MSJ from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. In addition to working at Mashable, Brenna is also the co-founder of Stuff Hipsters Hate, a blog on which she explores the phenomenon of the modern hipster. Living in Brooklyn has provided her with ample fodder for such a venture, while also allowing her to freely wear shoes with holes in them.

  • Jennifer Van Grove Social Media Reporter

    Jennifer joins Mashable as an Associate Editor. She is a community-minded professional with a passion for blogging and social media. Her experience includes working as a Community Manager and Social Media Strategist. Jennifer is also an active participatant in the San Diego web and technology space. She organizes the San Diego Tweetup group, and is a regular contributor to StartupSD.net, where she interviews and blogs about innovative San Diego startups. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from UCLA.

  • Jolie O’Dell Social Media & Tech Reporter

    Jolie O’Dell is a journalist and startup veteran with a decade of experience in writing and editing the news.

    Formerly a writer and community manager for ReadWriteWeb and a freelance writer for tech blogs and various print publications, Jolie now writes on social media and technology for Mashable. She graduated from Shenandoah University with a B.A. in media studies in 2004; as a student journalist, she won state and national awards, helped teach and manage a team of reporters, and made it out alive with high honors.

    Jolie is a recent Bay Area transplant. When she’s not blogging, she’s cooking, playing bass guitar, rollerskating, or hacking away in/trying desperately to learn Python.

  • Christina Warren Mobile & Apple Reporter

    Christina Warren is a writer, speaker and video host. Before joining Mashable, Christina was the assistant lead blogger at Download Squad and The Unofficial Apple Weblog. She has also written for USA Today and for AOL’s StyleList Blog. A technology, popular culture and Internet media junkie, Christina lives in Atlanta with her fiance and their computer collection. A film major in college, Christina talks movies and TV every week on the podcast, The Flickcast.

  • Lauren Indvik Associate Editor, Marketing & Media

    Lauren Indvik is the associate editor for marketing and media for Mashable, where she covers digital marketing news, the fashion industry, and reports on the evolving media landscape from Mashable’s New York headquarters. Lauren joined Mashable in March 2010 as assistant editor.

    She also writes a monthly column on technology for Forbes, and freelances for a variety of fashion-related and scholarly publications. She has been quoted in The New York Times, the Associated Press, the Atlantic, the Economist’s Intelligent Life and WWD. She has been a guest on CNN.

    Before joining Mashable, Lauren led social media strategy and operations at financial news site TheStreet. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College where she received her B.A. in English with honors.

  • Josh Catone Features Editor

    Josh Catone joined Mashable in May 2009 and is Features Editor. Before joining Mashable, Josh was the Lead Writer at ReadWriteWeb, the Lead Blogger at SitePoint, and the Community Evangelist at DandyID. He’s written about technology since 1998 for magazines, newspapers, and web sites, and he is the co-founder of Rails Forum, the web’s largest community for Ruby on Rails developers. He attended the University of Rhode Island and Ithaca College.

  • Matt Silverman Associate Features Editor

    Matt Silverman is our Associate Features Editor and brings his background in creative writing and video production to Mashable. He holds a B.A. in writing from Hofstra University and has worked previously as a paralegal with a prestigious New York law firm.

    Matt is also a humorist, musician, Googleophile, and Twitter fiend who labors to make the Internet funnier via The Sick Burn.

  • Zachary Sniderman Assistant Features Editor

    Zachary Sniderman joined Mashable in 2010 as an Assistant Features Editor. An arts and culture writer, Zack previously wrote for Greenshoelace.com, Maclean’s Magazine, and a ton of Columbia websites. Zack graduated with an M.S. from the Columbia School of Journalism and his B.A. from Harvard University. He now lives in New York City and misses pond hockey.

  • Amy-Mae Elliott Features Writer

    Before joining Mashable as a staff writer, Amy-Mae Elliott covered all things gadget, tech and online news for Pocket-lint.com. Previous to that she worked in magazine publishing for lad’s gadget mag Boys Toys and the more sedate secretarial title The PA. Amy-Mae studied photography at The Arts University College at Bournemouth, where she gained her love of the sea-side, now residing near the beach in Devon.

  • Sarah Kessler Features Writer

    Sarah Kessler joined Mashable as a features writer in August 2010. She is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and is a new New Yorker. Before joining Mashable, she freelanced for a wide variety of print and online magazines.

  • Radhika Marya Assistant Editor

    Radhika Marya is a multimedia journalist who got her start in the newspaper industry. She joined Mashable as an Assistant Editor in September 2010. She has an M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and previously held internships at WNYC Public Radio and NPR.org. In her spare time, Radhika is a pop culture enthusiast who enjoys playing guitar and concert hopping.

  • Erica Swallow Associate Editor, Partner Content

    Erica Swallow is an Associate Editor of Partner Content at Mashable, working primarily on growing Mashable‘s supported content program. She also writes within Mashable‘s business and marketing vertical. Prior to joining Mashable, she managed the social media marketing strategy for The New York Times. In 2008, she was chosen out of a pool of more than 3,000 candidates to blog on CosmoGirl.com about her internship at Saatchi & Saatchi, where she managed a team to create an ad campaign for a non-profit of her choice.

  • Emily Banks Assistant News Editor

    Emily joined Mashable‘s New York team in October 2010. Prior to joining Mashable, Emily tried a little bit of everything when it comes to news gathering and production, including editing one of the largest student-run newspapers in the country, writing for a top 25 newspaper and reporting live on TV at Georgia Public Broadcasting. She has a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota and since graduating has lived in
    Wisconsin, Georgia and New York (but she has more Minnesota pride now than
    ever).

  • Lauren Drell Assistant Editor, Supported Content

    Lauren Drell is the Assistant Editor of Supported Content for Mashable, where she coordinates, writes and edits supported feature content, in addition to helping the multimedia team. Lauren joined Mashable in February 2011 and is based in New York.

    Before joining Mashable, Lauren served as a multimedia reporter at AOL Small Business, where she focused on entrepreneurs and startups and launched several video series.

    Lauren earned a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, and she graduated with an M.S.J. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 2010. Her personal interests include ogling puppies, savoring red velvet cupcakes, and curating her typo blog, Spelchekt.

  • Brian Anthony Hernandez Copy Editor

    Brian Anthony Hernandez is a Copy Editor for Mashable, where he edits news, features and promotional content. Brian joined Mashable in February 2011 and is based in New York.

    Before joining Mashable, Brian served as a business reporter at TechMediaNetwork, where wrote news about small businesses, social media, technology, consumer trends and workplace behaviors. His work in 2010 earned him the B2B Twitterer of the Year award in business journalism.

    Brian attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s journalism school. His personal interests include Hot Cheetos, optimists, fried chicken, dance clubs and smiles.

  • Adam Hirsch, Chief Operations Officer, joined Mashable in fall of 2007 as Community and Marketing Manager. Adam oversees Mashable‘s business development, including marketing, partnerships, advertising/sponsorships, and events. His initiatives include the Open Web Awards and the Summer of Social Good, as well as event series such as the Summer Mash Tour of 2008 and the 92YTribeca NextUp NYC educational series. As Pete Cashmore’s “2nd in Command,” Adam is always on the hunt for partnerships and opportunities to improve Mashable and connect with its dedicated readership. Adam is a New York City native and a graduate of Cornell University.

  • Frederick Townes, Chief Technical Officer, brings the better half of a decade of industry experience to the table on a daily basis; since 2007 he’s taken care of technical-related issues, build and maintenance of the network of sites and continued to keep Mashable‘s infrastructure as up-to-date as its content. His passions and experiences are diverse, ranging from founding startups, user interface design and development, blogging and Internet marketing.

    Frederick currently lives in Boston and is a graduate of Boston University, where he focused on computer science and mathematics.

  • Ken Detlet Vice President of Sales and Marketing

    Ken Detlet, a veteran of digital and print sales, joined Mashable as the senior vice president of sales and marketing in January 2011. Ken oversees advertising sales, marketing and operations, and he is responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive increased revenue for Mashable.

    Before joining Mashable, Ken was formerly VP of sales at Ziff Davis, Inc and was in charge of sales and operations for the company’s web properties — most notable of which was PCMag.com. Ken also worked on executing the company’s strategy to transform the print publishing company into a fully digital organization.

    Before his role at Ziff Davis, Ken worked at Gannett Digital as VP of national sales and also in the online division of Dow Jones — sites included TheWallStreetJournalOnline, Barron’sOnline and MarketWatch — where he held a variety of sales and sales operations roles.
    Ken earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Peter’s College.

  • Brian Dresher Director of Business Development

    Brian Dresher is Mashable’s Director of Business Development and is based out of the D.C. area. In this role, Brian identifies and manages traffic-driving, revenue-generating, and brand-building partnerships and opportunities. Brian brings with him several years experience in the media industry, most recently at USATODAY.com, where he managed social media strategy and formed partnerships with major brands such as Yahoo, Forbes, and Nasdaq; and niche brands such as Fark, Gowalla, and even Mashable! Brian has spoken at several events on social media, content distribution, and partnerships including SXSW, Social Fresh, TWTRCON, and 140conf, and was a regular contributor to USA TODAY’s “The Social Blog.”

    Brian is a graduate of The George Washington University where he earned his MBA and was named Graduate Marketing Student of the Year, and a graduate of UC San Diego where he earned his B.A. in economics.

  • Lauren Rubin Director of Advertising

    Lauren Rubin joins the Mashable team as Global Director of Advertising. Lauren reports to Chief Operating Officer Adam Hirsch, and will be working to enhance brand development and strategic media opportunities for our advertising partners. With more than 10 years of experience in media planning and buying roles, Lauren brings invaluable “agency side” expertise to our growing marketing staff. Lauren currently lives in New York City and divides her spare time between Manhattan and the British countryside, where she is slowly adopting the Imperial measurement system.

  • Tamar Weinberg Community & Global Advertising

    Tamar Weinberg joined Mashable in late 2007. As Mashable‘s Community Support and Advertising Manager, she is responsible for ad sales, community satisfaction, and other behind-the-scenes projects. Tamar is a social media aficionado who has worked with a variety of companies on social media strategy and search engine marketing. Tamar also writes on social media marketing-oriented topics at her personal blog located at techipedia.com and is the author of the premier social media marketing book, The New Community Rules.

  • Andrew Reedman US Director of Sales

    Andrew Reedman joins the Mashable team as US Director of Advertising. Andrew is tasked with building and developing Mashable’s advertising and marketing strategy, product suite and operations. Andrew will be working to enhance current and future brand relationships for all of Mashable’s advertising partners. Andrew most recently worked for Digg.com where he built the East Coast territory and was Digg’s largest revenue producer in 2010. Andrew is a Jersey native and currently resides in in the north side of Hoboken.

  • Brie Manakul Ad Ops Manager

    Brie Manakul is the Ad Ops Manager for Mashable where she will set up the online advertising systems for the company, as well as creating the processes for the group and provide the right balance of interactive best practices and technological innovation for the company’s clients. Brie joined Mashable in February 2011 and is based in New York.

    Before joining Mashable, Brie served as the Manager of Campaign Operations for the Kids &
Family division of MTV Networks where she was responsible for implementing interactive online advertising campaigns across a network of well-established sites.

    
Brie earned a B.S. in management information systems and marketing from St. Louis University and a MBA and Masters in Marketing. She is completing her Masters in Media Production at The New School. Her personal interests include running, traveling and producing.

  • Stacy Green Communications Director

    Stacy Green is Communications Director for Mashable where she oversees public relations and marketing, working with the business development, events, sales and advertising teams on improving outreach efforts, strategic marketing and internal and external communications. Stacy joined Mashable from The New York Times where she was manager of digital partnerships and social media marketing, and prior to that public relations manager for NYTimes.com. Stacy received her B.S. in Mass Communication from Towson University. She is originally from Maryland and resides in New York City.

  • Vadim Lavrusik Community Manager

    Vadim Lavrusik is the Community Manager & Social Strategist at Mashable. He’s also an Adjunct Professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, teaching “Social Media Skills for Journalists.” He’s the founder and organizer of the Community Managers Meetup.

    Most recently, he worked on social media at The New York Times and received a Master’s of Science degree in Digital Media from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where he co-founded and produced NYC 3.0, a website that included an in-depth documentary on New York City’s tech startup community. Prior to Columbia, he studied at the University of Minnesota where he received a B.A. in journalism, summa cum laude, in 2009. While at the University of Minnesota, he worked as a reporter, managing editor and editor-in-chief for four years at The Minnesota Daily. His work has been published on PBS NewsHour, Fast Company, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, the Star Tribune, Poynter.org, and more. He now focuses much of his writing and reporting on the changing media landscape, specifically to how the social web is affecting storytelling.

  • Meghan Peters Community Assistant

    Meghan joined Mashable as Community Assistant in September 2010. Prior to joining the Mashable team in NYC, she worked as a web producer at The Seattle Times and managing editor of Microsoft’s JobsBlog. Meghan has a B.A. in journalism and Spanish from the University of Washington and has written for The Huffington Post, China Daily, The Seattle Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer and Seattle Weekly.

  • Karen Hartline Events Director

    Karen Hartline brings 9+ years of event planning to the Mashable team. She moved to California in 2008 from Madison, Wis., but she still calls Oklahoma home. When others have a great time at a Mashable event, she knows she’s done her job well. Karen went to school to learn how to play and has a degree in recreation management. She loves getting geeky, especially about gadgets, can always be found in front of the TV for Oklahoma Sooner football, loves a good glass of wine to relax and looks forward to meeting as many Mashable readers as possible.

  • Rachel Schwartz Events Manager

    Rachel Schwartz is the Events Manager for Mashable where she manages the company’s event production. Rachel joined Mashable in January 2011 and is based in New York.

    Before joining Mashable, Rachel served as a public relations Account Executive in Argentina and New York for B2B technology clients. She has also worked as a corporate event planner for four years, managing events across industries including e-commerce, luxury goods, finance and biopharmaceuticals.

    Rachel is a graduate of (the) Eugene Lang College, The New School with a B.A. in Creative Writing. Her personal interests include traveling and writing and taking advantage of the New York City culinary scene.

  • Kate Hayden Events Assistant

    Kate Hayden left glitzy Los Angeles for San Francisco and Mashable in December 2010 to help organize our regularly ambitious events. She previously coordinated the year-long events presence for BOOM! Studios, an independent comics creator best known for Mark Waid’s Irredeemable. Kate was the go-to point person at BOOM! Studios, overseeing the smallest details of poster placement to securing booth space for San Diego Comic-Con, the largest annual gathering of like-minded nerds. Before BOOM! Studios, Kate worked at banking institution HSBC, most notably helping to maintaining relationships between citizens affected by the hurricane Katrina disaster and contractors assigned to repairs. When she’s not buried in e-mails and meetings, she’s also making you hungry by posting her meals at katetheshark.tumblr.com.

  • Louis Dorman Art Director

    Louis has been designing for Mashable since 2007, which was ironically the same year Britney shaved her head and Apple debuted the iPhone.

    Since the early days of dial-up Internet he has been designing graphics for the world wide web and squatting on inappropriate domain names. A graduate of AIPX in 2001, he has gone on to design and manufacturer hundreds of millions of products worldwide. Most recently founding patent-pending companies such as AdCamo & Comboware.

  • Ada Ospina Office Manager

    Ada Ospina joined Mashable as the Office Manager in the New York office. She graduated from the University of South Florida’s College of Business with a B.S. in Marketing. She has experience in investments, event planning, and office management. She enjoys photography, networking, and traveling. She currently serves on the board of Heritage of Pride, organizers of the official NYC Pride events.
