History

In response to the needs of development of the civil aviation industry, the Taiwan Aviation Avitation Police Offices PicturePolice Office was established in 1970, which was under the jurisdiction of the Taiwan Police Force at that time. In 1978, to support the opening of the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, the Taiwan Aviation Police Office was replaced by the Aviation Police Bureau under the jurisdiction of the National Police Administration, Ministry of the Interior. In 1979, its headquarters was moved to the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport from Taipei Songshan Airport. and since then to perform tasks in a new environment.

In July 1996, the Organic ACT of Aviation Police Bureau was approved and issued by the Legislative Yuan by vote. With respect to civil aviation business, the Bureau is in command of and monitored by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, Ministry of Transportation. The office is composed by one Director, two Deputy Directors and one Secretary. Moreover, it governs four sections, namely, Administration, Foreign Affairs, Passenger Clearance, and Logistics, four offices of Supervision, Political Ethics, Personnel and Accountant, and one Police Operational Command and Control Center. According to its specific tasks, the Secretary Office, Public Relation Office and Information Office are formed. In addition, the Bureau sets up four direct brigades including a Criminal Investigation, a Security Police, a Certificate Check, and a Passenger Clearance Police Brigade. In addition, it establishes two branches, respectively, located at Taipei Songshan Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport, and some offices in Taichung Shuinan Airport, Chia-Yi Airport, Tainan Airport, Penghu Makung Airport, Pingtung Airport, Taitung Fengnin Airport, Lyudao Airport, Lanyu Airport, Hualien Airport, and Kinmen Airport, and police stations in Penghu Cimei Airport, Wang-an Airport and Matsu Beigan Airport as well. Overall, its responsibilities include guarding and security, criminal investigation, certificate checks, and passenger clearance.

Presently, Aviation Police Bureau is under the jurisdiction of National Police Administration, Ministry of the Interior
