East/NE winds to keep a lid on Chicago-area temps

The onset of rain Thursday should hold off until after the White Sox home opener, but temperatures at the park should hover in the middle and upper 40s.

An overcast is likely to assemble during the afternoon.Chilly lakeside where northeast winds averaging 8-18 mph, with some higher gusts, restrict highs to the mid-40s; inland areas could reach the mid-to-upper 50s.Scattered showers develop by late evening then increase in coverage and intensity. Temperatures hold in the 40s.

  • I live just south of Fond du Lac in Wisconsin,now. raised in Edison Park. It's 40 degrees at 10:30pm It's a big deal that the temp may hit 60,this week-end!! Yeah,hey dere...

  • We are located here in Porter Indiana right by the Indiana Dunes..We had light snow showers several times today around 12:30pm.Strange sight to see with the temperature at 45 but the dew point was 24 allowing it to snow.
