Today's News Poll

POLL: Should AFLAC have fired Gilbert Gottfried?

For more than a decade, Gilbert Gottfried has provided the voice of the duck in AFLAC's popular TV commercials. Now the insurance company has fired the comedian after he made jokes about the devastating tsunami in Japan.. Did they do the right thing?

  • Of course they did. There's no excuse for making jokes about such a horrible and deadly tragedy. He deserved to be fired.
  • No. The jokes were tasteless, but tasteless jokes are just a part of comedy. He shouldn't be fired for it.
  • It's silly. His whole act is trying to shock people with his tastelessness. (Remember his 9/11 jokes?) AFLAC knew what they were getting when they signed him.
  • Come on. Anybody on the street can shout "AFLAC" in a screeching voice. They can replace him easily and save a lot of money.
  • Who cares? He's a washed-up, third-rate comedian whose biggest job these days is doing the voice of a duck who only speaks one word. Let him find work.
