Gabor Back In Hospital After Spitting Up Blood

22 hours ago | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband fears the star is close to death after she started coughing up blood at home on Tuesday.

The Hollywood legend has been in and out of hospital since breaking her hip in a fall last summer and Prince Frederic von Anhalt is worried his wife may never return home after her latest health emergency.

TMZ.com reports an ambulance was called to the couple's Bel Air home on Tuesday after Gabor experienced breathing problems and then began spitting up blood.

Von Anhalt says, "I'm really worried we may lose her this time."

Gabor was hospitalised last week at the UCLA Medical Center in California after the ailing 94 year old's health deteriorated after hearing news of her friend Elizabeth Taylor's death.

A representative for the actress confirmed reports that Gabor told her husband "celebrities go in threes, and I'm next" - referring to Taylor and Jane Russell, who died in February.

Gabor was hospitalised earlier this month after refusing a second leg amputation, just weeks after part of her right limb was removed to stop the spread of gangrene. »

'Mad Men' Creator Fires Back At Network

29 minutes ago | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

A day after faltering negotiations were made public, "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner has broken his silence on the issues stopping his new contract with AMC from getting done.

Talking to "Mad Men" fan site Basket of Kisses, Weiner said that he was unwilling to surrender on a number of creative and budget issues, even if it meant a larger contract.

At issue are budget cuts that would cost the series two cast members per year, a shorter running time for more advertisements and more prominent product integration.

"First of all, the number that's been published is not true," Weiner said. "Second of all, I offered to have less money, to save the cast, and to leave the show in the running time that it's supposed to be. The harder that I've fought for the show, the more money that they've offered me."

Weiner is reported to have been offered $30 million; yesterday, »

Yahoo Teams With News Show To Offer Royal Couple Marital Advice

57 minutes ago | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The bosses at Internet search engine site Yahoo.com have teamed up with U.S. news show Access Hollywood to offer Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton tips for a happy marriage.

The couple will wed in London at the end of April and now well-wishers can officially offer the royals advice.

Access Hollywood launched the project on Wednesday with messages from movie royal Dame Helen Mirren and Glee star Jane Lynch.

The Queen star Mirren said, "The pressures on them are going to be so different. I don't know how any marriage can survive those pressures, quite honestly, without a real, unbelievable sense of self-discipline and duty... The trick... is to give the other person as much freedom as possible.

"Freedom to be who and what they want to be. You're there to support the other person, not to control them, to push them into being something that you want them to be."

And lesbian Lynch added, "They're going to be doing a lot of things outside (the marriage) and they have a lot of duties other than the duties to their marriage... but what happens at home is important.

"What I love about them is they're not going to have the help; they're not going to have the butlers and the maids... They're going to keep it simple."

Lynch, who wed Lara Embry last year, admits she was personally asked by bosses at Yahoo to help them launch their marriage advice site.

She adds, "We're a same sex couple and we've been kind of out there as kind of an example and we were really thrilled that they asked asked us and we take that responsibility seriously. We know a lot of people are looking to us." »

Booker Prize Judges Refuse To Excuse Thriller Author Le Carre

57 minutes ago | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The panel of judges choosing this year's Man Booker International Prize have refused revered British author John Le Carre's request to have his name formally withdrawn from the literary competition.

The thriller writer, known for his novels The Tailor of Panama and The Constant Gardener, admits he is "enormously flattered" to be named on the shortlist for the top honour, but has no interest in awards.

He says, "I do not compete for literary prizes."

However, chief judge Rick Gekoski is refusing to bow to pressure from Le Carre, explaining the panel of judges, who are solely responsible for selecting the winner, are "great admirers" of the author's work and his name will remain on the list.

Philip Pullman is also among the 13 nominees for the prestigious prize, worth $96,000 (£60,000), which will be presented during a ceremony in London on 28 June.

Writer Howard Jacobson was named the winner of the 2010 award. »

Cyrus Not Returning To Social Networking

57 minutes ago | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Miley Cyrus has no plans to start up her Twitter.com account again, insisting it would be "hypocritical" for her to open up online after taking aim at the media for intruding on her private life.

The former Hannah Montana star has hit out at the tabloid press on numerous occasions for spreading false rumours about her love life and criticising the singer/actress for her behaviour away from the spotlight, following a scandal last year when she was filmed smoking a legal high from a bong.

Cyrus logged off Twitter.com and shut down her account in 2009, but she started tweeting again last week (ends25Mar11) from her producer Rock Mafia's page.

She wrote, "When I need to speak out I will tweet from @Rock_Mafia Rock Mafia Forever xMC."

But the 18 year old insists she's not about to relaunch her own blog.

She tells Australia's Daily Telegraph, "I do not tweet, I do not social network, I try to stay out of it. I complain enough about people knowing too much about my private life, so to go out there and exploit myself would be silly and hypocritical." »
