Fox Sports' coverage of the Daytona 500 was the most-watched NASCAR race since 2008, pulling in an average of 15.6 million viewers -- 17 percent more than last year's race.
A release from the network pointed out the 30.1 million viewers was a measure of the audience that saw at least a portion of the race.
The Daytona event had its share of drama with 74 lead changes and 16 caution flags. But the viewers were watching before the drama began, with tune-in for the green flag up seven percent from last year's start.
Trevor Bayne celebrated the against-all-odds victory at the end.
