Kindlewurm says:
If you want to share Kindle books from Amazon, your Kindles must be registered to the same account in order to share books. If you want to share DRM-free public domain books, you can just copy and distribute them freely.

No. A Kindle can only be registered to one account at a time.

Is there any way around this? I have a Kindle that I love and would like to get my friend one for
Christmas. We like the same books. Can you register to your account then unregister, go to a friends account get a book and then reregister to your own account?

I would like to get my husband a Kindle since I enjoy mine so much. We would like to share books also. Can we register his as Nancy's kindle like mine is? He can read my books on the computer using Kindle for the PC.

I gave my husband a Kindle for his birthday. It came today. They (Amazon) had named it "Mary's 2nd Kindle". I edited it to his name, but left it on my account. He can get all my books this way without having to pay again. Also, I changed the Kindle email to his name. This seems real cool to both of us!

I read on both my Kindle ebook and my Droid. My daughter now has a Droid and I want to share my books with her. Can this be done? I have read of deregistering my Kindle and reregistering another, however I would not want to continuously have to do this each time she wanted to read from my book list.

Kindlewurm says:
P., you don't have to deregister anything in order to let your daughter register to your account. You just add her device, as you did for your Droid.

I am about to buy a Kindle. Can I read on my Blackberry once I am registered?

Kindlewurm says:
T., you just have to register your Blackberry to your account in order to download and read any Kindle books you have purchased. You can even do this before you get a Kindle, if you want to go ahead and start buying books.

You can have up to 6 kindle units on the same account. So yes, you can have his kindle on your account. Just give the kindle his name when you register, or order, it.

You can call his whatever you want as long as it's listed on your AAmazon/Kindle account. I have Richs Kindle/Richs second Kindle and Richs Droid all on mine no problem.

You should get a barnes & noble nook instead. They have a LendMe technology to share purchased books with nook friends for free. Its very cool. If they are interested in any of your lendable books then they can send you a request to borrow it and once you say yes it stays with them for 14 days and then it automatically returns to you.

I reckon this is a bit stuffed! My husband and I have separate accounts and separate kinds cos we like different books, and want to pay for them separately. But if occasionally we want to share, Why shouldn't we?
